Photo Gallery | “Have Yourself a Certified SC Christmas” with Great Holiday Recipes

Start a new tradition this Christmas by adding a delicious new dish to your holiday table or party, featuring great tasting Certified South Carolina Grown produce and products. The South Carolina Department of Agriculture (SCDA) is releasing one holiday recipe a day between December 3 -7.

One of the featured recipes is made with Sallie’s Greatest Jams from South Carolina Specialty Foods Association (SCSFA) member, Sallie Porth.  You may have seen Sallie’s Greatest on Oprah’s Favorite Things List 2012.

Some of the Certified SC Christmas recipes include Sallie’s Greatest Thick Cut Pork Chop with Blackberry Spice + Sage Red Wine Sauce and Christmas Collard Dip.

You can find a new recipe each day between December 3 -7, by visiting www.agriculture.sc.gov. Look for Certified SC Christmas under Hot Topics.  The recipes will also be posted to the Certified SC Facebook page.

Look for Certified SC Grown and SCSFA items when you shop this holiday season.  Some of the state’s fresh produce in season this time of year includes collards and other leafy greens, sweet potatoes, pecans and beets. You can find Certified SC Grown produce in more than 500 retail grocery stores across South Carolina.

You can find SCFSA products at several stores including 302 Artisans, 302 Senate St., Columbia, Five Rivers Market, 950 Chestnut St., Orangeburg, Charleston Cooks, 200 N. Main Street, Greenville, and Kitchen Emporium & Gifts, 303 South Main St., Anderson.
