Man dies in shooting at gun range | News

WEST COLUMBIA, SC (WIS)- A man is dead after his gun fired while he was taking it apart at a West Columbia shooting range Thursday night.
The incident happened at approximately 7 p.m. at Shooter's Choice,
which is located in 944 Sunset Blvd.
According to Lexington County Coroner
Harry O. Harman, 62-year-old Jerry Marsh, III of Columbia was dismantling his
40-caliber Glock semi-automatic handgun when it accidentally discharged,
striking him in the chest.
Marsh was transported to Palmetto Health
Richland hospital where he was pronounced dead, the coroner said.
The accident remains under investigation by the Lexington County Coroner's
Office and the West Columbia Police Department.
