Open Source Technology to be showcased at POSSCON 2013 | Events

The Palmetto Open Source Software Conference (POSSCON), presented by IT-oLogy, will once again bring a world-class lineup of IT thought leaders to Columbia for two days to discuss the latest open source technologies and issues for developers, executives, government leaders and educators.

POSSCON 2013 will be held at IT-oLogy, 1301 Gervais Street, Columbia, SC, March 27-28, 2013 and will feature track sessions, hands-on training, social and networking events. For the full schedule of events, go to www.posscon.org.

Keynote speaker for the event is former chief technology officer for Obama for America 2012, Harper Reed. Reed is credited with developing the central piece of Obama's 2012 campaign strategy - a "vast digital data operation" that spanned cutting edge data science, social media coordination, and crowd sourced contributions.  Much of the technology developed for the campaign was open source, and Reed will discuss it in great detail.
