Free mulch made from ground Christmas Trees collected as part of the Grinding of the Greens Christmas tree recycling program will be available to the community on Saturday, January 12, 2012 starting at 9:00 a.m. until the mulch runs out.
Mulch is load-your-own. Be sure to bring a bucket, bags, or whatever else you might need to haul off the mulch.
Locations:
- South Carolina State Farmers Market–3483 Charleston Highway, West Columbia,
- Seven Oaks Park — 200 Leisure Lane near the intersection of St. Andrews and Piney Grove Roads.
The last day to drop off Christmas trees is Thursday, January 10, 2012. Please visit www.keepthemidlandsbeautiful.org for the list of 20 drop-off locations.
Grinding is provided by ASPLUNDH with additional support from the Irmo-Chapin Recreation Commission and the State Farmers Market.
