City Roots needs your vote to win Green America’s People, Planet Awards contest | Environment

From now until Friday, November 30th at 5 p.m., you have the chance to vote for City Roots to win the Green America’s People and Planet Awards contest. City Roots was selected as one of ten national finalists for their contributions to a just and sustainable economy.

City Roots vision is to produce clean, healthy, sustainably grown products while enhancing and educating our community about the benefits of locally grown food, composting, vermicomposting and other environmentally friendly farming practices.

Each of the ten finalists made it through a competitive initial round of voting by a panel of expert judges, who selected which groups would advance to the final round of the contest. Finalists for this second round of awards are expected to both represent an overall green way of doing business, and also shine in their commitment to clean, renewable energy. The winners will receive a $5,000 award to assist with advancing each business’ commitment to clean renewable energy.
