Woman arrested, 2 sought in connection with theft of puppy | Crime
LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WIS) - A woman has been arrested in connection with the theft of a puppy from a Midlands animal shelter.
Lexington County Sheriff James Metts says 20-year-old Kandis Lynn Dease of Lexington turned herself in Friday on an arrest warrant for a petit larceny charge. She is awaiting a bond hearing at the Lexington County Detention Center.
Metts said deputies are looking for 21-year-old Malcolm Joshua Dickerson of Columbia and 19-year-old Rebecca Michelle Howell of Lexington. They are wanted on warrants of petit larceny. Photos of Dickerson and Howell are attached to this story.
According to arrest warrants, Metts said Dease, Dickerson and Howell went to the Pets, Inc. adoption center in West Columbia on July 8th. Howell is accused of taking a puppy without paying the adoption fee. The puppy was returned earlier this week.
This is the second case involving a stolen puppy from Pets, Inc. within a week. On Wednesday, three women were arrested in connection with the theft of a puppy from the shelter.
