Report: 75 gallons of fuel stolen from parked truck | Crime
The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the theft of 75 gallons of fuel that was taken from a truck parked in a parking lot.
According to the report, on Sunday officers were dispatched to a gas station located on Rolling Meadow Lane in West Columbia in reference to a larceny.
Upon arrival, deputies met with the 25-year-old victim from Alabama who stated that fuel was stolen from his commercial vehicle.
The victim told officers he parked the truck in the parking lot overnight and when he tried to crank it up the next morning it only stayed started for one minute before shutting off.
When the victim got out to check his truck, he noticed that the gas cap had been removed from the tank, the report stated.
According to the victim, 75 gallons of fuel was missing.
