AG: Man exchanged nude photos with teen girl | Crime

A West Columbia man was arrested on charges of disseminating obscene material to a minor, according to South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson.

On February 13, the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, in conjunction with the Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested 20-year-old Joshua Nathaniel Williams.

The report said between October and December of 2012, Williams knowingly disseminated obscene material to a 13-year-old female. 

According to Wilson, Williams and the 13-year-old met on a dating website.

Wilson said Williams continued to contact the minor on the dating site and via text messages, even after she informed him that she was only 13 years old.

Both Williams and the victim provided Lexington County law enforcement with written statements admitting to having exchanged nude photos, the report stated.
