Report: Man attempting to pay for sex assaulted by women

A 65-year-old Gaston man was struck in the head with a glass bottle and nearly robbed after deputies say he attempted to pay for sex.

According to a Lexington County Sheriff’s Department incident report, on Friday officers were dispatched to the Kangaroo Express located on Charleston Highway in reference to an assault.

Upon arrival, officers spotted the bloody and grossly intoxicated victim walking on the highway towards the El Cheapo gas station, deputies say.

According to sheriff’s deputies, the victim told officers that he went to the ATM and withdrew $200, and then traveled to Kangaroo Express with two female acquaintances to buy a pack of cigarettes.

The victim advised deputies he was going to pay the women for sex.

When the victim returned to the vehicle he was struck in the head several times with a glass bottle, the report stated. The victim told deputies the women kept demanding his $200.

At one point, the victim said the two women threatened to tell the police he raped them, if he didn’t give up the cash, the report stated.

Deputies say the victim was able to exit the vehicle and walk away without having to give up his money.

The victim was transported to Lexington Medical Center.

Deputies continue to investigate.
