Report: Man robbed at gunpoint while checking mail

A 21-year-old Lexington man was robbed at gunpoint while walking back to his apartment from checking the mail, according to sheriff’s deputies.

On November 27, Lexington County sheriff’s deputies responded to Country Walk Apartments located on Foxfire Drive in reference to an armed robbery.

Upon arrival, officers met with the victim who stated while he was walking back to his apartment after checking his mail, a black male wearing a black ski mask and gray hoodie ran up to him, according to sheriff’s deputies.

The report said the suspect demanded money and began feeling the victim’s pockets.

The victim told the suspect that he didn’t have any money on him, so the suspect then demanded the man’s iPhone, the report stated. Deputies say the victim told the suspect “no”, and the suspect struck him with the gun.

The victim told deputies that he then gave the suspect his phone because he feared for his life, according to the report.

Deputies say while the suspect was yelling, the victim told officers he noticed another black male in the distance acting as a look-out.
The report said the two suspects fled the scene on foot, and left in a 4-door purple Taurus that was parked around the corner from the victim’s apartment.

Deputies say the first suspect is described as a 25-year-old black male, 6’0- 6’2, 130-140lbs., last seen wearing a black ski mask and gray hoodie.
