Store robbed at gunpoint for $69 | Crime
The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is searching for a suspect they say robbed a store.
According to an incident report, on Oct. 15, officers responded to the Pitt Stop located at 1601 North Lake Drive in reference to a robbery.
Upon arrival, officers met with a witness who stated that he was standing outside smoking when he observed a man walking towards the store, deputies say.
The report said the suspect approached the witness, pulled out a handgun and told him to “get in the store”.
Once they we’re inside the store, the suspect grabbed the neck of a female customer and drug her around the register, the report stated.
Deputies say the suspect then pointed the gun at the clerk and demanded money.
The report said the suspect obtained $69 and fled the scene on foot.
According to sheriff’s deputies, the suspect was last seen running towards Jake Landing Road.
Deputies describe the suspect as a black male between 25-33 years-old, 6’0-6’2 tall, weighing 150- 180lbs. The suspect was wearing blue jeans, a red hoodie and a white bandana over his face.
