Tub filled with water, towels overflows causing $6k worth of damage to hotel

A hotel guest may be in deep trouble after causing $6000 worth of damage to several rooms, according to sheriff’s deputies.

According to a Lexington County Sheriff’s Department incident report, on Sunday officers were dispatched to Executive Inn located on Harbor Drive in reference to vandalism.

Upon arrival, deputies say they met with the hotel owner who stated that four of his rooms had been vandalized.

The report said water was left running in room 221, and towels, clothes, shoes and a chair had been placed in the tub to keep the water from draining. Deputies say when the tub filled up, the water overflowed and continued running damaging everything in the room.

According to the report, as the water continued to run it also damaged rooms 122, 123 and 124. Deputies say parts of the ceiling collapsed in room 122.

The damage was estimated at $6,000.

Deputies say they have  the name of the guest who rented room 221, but have yet to release the information.
