Report: Wife arrested after attempting to stab husband

A West Columbia woman was arrested after attempting to stab her husband, according to sheriff’s deputies.

According to a Lexington County Sheriff’s Department incident report, deputies responded to a residence on Fish Hatchery Road in Lexington County for a domestic problem between a husband and wife on April 26.

The report stated that a neighbor contacted 911 stating that 43-year-old Sheena Staley was trying to stab her husband with a knife.

Upon arrival, deputies located the couple arguing in the parking lot. Officers say they observed blood on the husband’s t-shirt and noticed that Sheena was still holding three knives in her hands.

Officers say they also observed the husband trying to keep distance between him and Sheena, the report stated. Officers ordered Sheena to put down the knives.

Sheena dropped the knives and stated that she was going to kill her husband, according to the report.

Officers say they quickly detained Sheena and placed her in the back of the patrol car.

While questioning the husband, deputies spotted a laceration on the husband’s right hand, according to sheriff’s deputies.

Officers asked the husband if Sheena tried to stab him and he replied that he was cut while trying to remove the knives out of Sheena’s hands, the report stated.

The husband also told deputies that he did not feel like Sheena was going to kill him, according to the report.

Sheena was arrested and charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature.
