Title (Max 100 Characters)
Junior Achievement’s annual Bowl-a-Thon has a new twist this year. Junior Achievement (JA) is pitting business professionals against each other to raise money for South Carolina’s future business leaders. In addition to the traditional Bowl-A-Thon teams bowling for dollars the weekend of April 12, this year bankers are putting their money where their mouths are the weekend of March 8, and accountants are holding each other accountable on the weekend of April 26. All bowling takes place at AMF Park Lanes in Cayce.
The 2013 Bowl-A-Thon fundraising goal is $39,000- to provide Junior Achievement’s supplemental classroom programs to more South Carolina school children than ever before. The funds generated from Bowl-A-Thon 2013 will help JA meet teacher demands for JA courses which teach critical skills like personal finance, career readiness, entrepreneurship, economics and how/why the economy works.
JA’s 21st century financial literacy, workforce readiness and entrepreneurship programs offer young people (kindergarten through high school) the knowledge and skills necessary for their own future economic success. JA programs empower students by helping them to make the connection between what they learn in school and how it is relevant in their lives and the real world. JA classes also stress the importance of staying in school.
It is not too late to get in on the FUNdraising. Form a team of five bowlers and hit the lanes with other business professionals- all for a very good cause- Contact Junior Achievement’s Joey Cochran to bowl a strike for South Carolina’s kids.
