LCSD is looking for new pairs of athletic shoes | Community Spirit
Lexington County Sheriff’s Department deputies are working in partnership with Lexington County School District One and Glenforest School Head Basketball Coach William Knopf to collect new pairs of athletic shoes in sizes that are appropriate for youths and older teen-agers.
The Sheriff’s Department will donate all shoes that it receives to Samaritan’s Feet, a non-profit organization that provides shoes to children worldwide who are in need of assistance.
Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts said new athletic shoes for youths and older teen-agers can be donated to the Sheriff’s Department through Sunday, March 24 as part of the Barefoot for Bare Feet Movement.
Metts said citizens can donate new pairs of athletic shoes for youths and older teen-agers at the following Sheriff’s Department and School District One facilities:
v Lexington County James R. Metts Law Enforcement Complex, 521 Gibson Road, Lexington
v North Region Service Center, 111 Lincreek Drive, Columbia
v South Region Service Center, 102 Airport Road, Pelion
v West Region Headquarters, 4079-B Augusta Highway, Gilbert
v Lexington High School, 2463 Augusta Highway, Lexington
v Lexington Technology Center, 2421 Augusta Highway, Lexington
Code Enforcement Officer Ty Haigler is coordinating the participation of the Sheriff’s Department in the shoe drive for Samaritan’s Feet, Metts said.
Citizens who have questions concerning the shoe drive for Samaritan’s Feet can contact Haigler on his cell phone at (803) 223-1776, Metts said. The shoe drive reflects the Sheriff’s Department mission of providing professional law enforcement services that enhance the quality of life for all people in Lexington County.
