A Pee Wee League football team for the Kershaw County Recreation Department has been on a winning streak ever since the team decided to support breast cancer awareness month.

On Monday, the Cardinals placed pink stickers on the back of their helmets and since then they’ve blown out every team they’ve played, 42-0.

A player’s mother, who works for Lexington Medical Center, says the stickers are advertisement for the Pink Glove Dance Competition.

“I do believe the pink was a blessing,” said the mother.

The Cardinals are set to play in the Pee Wee League championship game against the Steelers Nov. 3  at 10 a.m. at  Zemp Stadium in Camden.

Last year, Lexington Medical Center won the Medline Pink Glove Dance Competition out of hundreds of entries from around the country. This year, the hospital is hoping to defend its crown.
