The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department in partnership with Lexington County School District One will conduct a food drive for Harvest Hope Food Bank at Lexington High School and Lexington Technology Center. The food drive began on Monday, October 22 and will end on Friday, November 2.
Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts encourages citizens to participate in the food drive by bringing canned goods and other non-perishable food items to Lexington High School, 2463 Augusta Highway, Lexington, and Lexington Technology Center, 2421 Augusta Highway, Lexington. Harvest Hope Food Bank will distribute the donated food to persons who need assistance in Lexington County and other counties in the Midlands.
School Resource Officer Ron Byrd will coordinate the participation of the Sheriff’s Department in the food drive at Lexington High, Metts said. School Resource Officer Lonnie McElwain will coordinate the agency’s participation in the food drive at Lexington Technology Center.
The food drive for Harvest Hope Food Bank reflects the Sheriff’s Department mission of providing professional law enforcement services that enhance the quality of life for all people in Lexington County, Metts said.
