Lexington Medical Center wins Pink Glove contest! | Community Spirit

Workers at Lexington Medical Center recently took off their work sneakers and put on a pair of dancing shoes for an online dance contest. Well, we can report that it paid off.

The hospital won the Medline Pink Glove Dance Competition out of hundreds of entries from around the country. Their entry, featuring the hit song "Firework" by Katy Perry, was the only entry from the state of South Carolina.

Produced entirely in-house, hundreds of hospital employees, volunteers and chaplains showed off their dancing abilities to honor breast cancer survivors and hopefully win a $10,000 donation for their breast cancer charity, The Vera Bradley Foundation.

It was down to the wire for the hospital as it survived an onslaught of votes from a competing hospital in Rochester, New York.
