Columbia Church of Christ | Community
Our members live throughout the Columbia metropolitan area. We have a thriving campus ministry at USC and great teen, middle school and children’s ministries.
The first thing most people notice when you visit our worship services is that we are made up of people from all walks of life – black, white, the young, the more mature, college students, singles, teens and married adults. Everyone is welcome at the Columbia Church of Christ because God loves everyone equally. The next thing we hope you notice is that despite these superficial differences, by knowing how much God loves us, we can love one another.
The safest thing to say is that we believe the whole Bible, Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21. We do not have a particular creed or official statement of beliefs other than the scriptures themselves. We are committed to loving God with all our heart mind, soul and strength and loving our neighbor as ourselves (Matt. 22:37-40). The church is the family of God on earth and Jesus is the head of the church (Col. 1:18). His church is made up of true disciples (John 8:31), followers of Jesus who are serious enough about their faith to go anywhere, do anything and give up everything to be pleasing to God.
We desire to reach as many as possible in every part of the Columbia metropolitan area. We want to continue to see our teens and campus ministries grow and to establish stronger outreach ministries
Our mission on earth is to make disciples of all nations (Matt. 28:18-20) and every Christian must be involved in that task. We each have unique gifts and every part of the body is equally important (I Cor. 12). Having been so abundantly blessed we should always remember the poor (Gal. 2:10) and all those less fortunate and so we offer a wide range of ways to give back to the community.
