The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the community’s assistance in identifying the person or persons who broke into five churches near Pelion and Swansea.

Expect traffic delays on May 25 due to Jailbreak 5-K Run

On Saturday, May 25, motorists will experience traffic delays on roads near the Lexington County James R. Metts Law Enforcement Complex, 521 Gibson Road, Lexington, between 6:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. during the seventh annual Lexington County Sheriff’s Foundation Jailbreak 5-K Run.

Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts said Gibson Road in the vicinity of the Law Enforcement Complex will be closed temporarily to traffic during the 5-K run. Motorists on other roads in the vicinity of the complex will experience temporary traffic delays during the race.

Accountant's report confirms WIS investigation

CAYCE, SC (WIS)- An accounting firm's report into a high school's athletic booster club confirms what WIS uncovered in its investigation.

A report released this week showed that two checks were indeed signed by an unauthorized district employee to provide pregame meals for the football team. In WIS' report, we discovered those checks were signed by Brookland-Cayce High School's Athletic Director Rusty Charpia.

One check was written for $340 to Bogarts, which is a
restaurant in West Columbia. The second was made out for cash at $360.
